Who I am?

Me

As you've probably already guessed, my name is Michael Alø-Nielsen (on the internet i go by the nickname m-alo). I'm 44 years old and single (by choice). I live in Denmark in a small town just outside of Copenhagen called Brøndby - maybe you've heard of their soccer team?

Sleep Apnea

I suffer from severe Sleep Apnea; a life-long disorder I've learned to live with since I got the diagnose back in December 2005. I will have to sleep with a CPAP-machine and a nasal-mask for the rest of my life.

Nightperson

I'm a nightperson, which is probably the reason why I bought the domain carpenoctem.dk (Carpe Noctem translates into "Seize the Night"). Currently the site is empty, and just redirects here.

Employment

I've been working "The Graveyard Shift" for more than 25 years and I wouldn't want it any other way! I was until recently, employed as a Datastruktør by Post Danmark Datascanning A/S where I've been working for 12½ years. Unfortunately, due to the global economic recession, the nightshift was closed, and I'm therefore currently without a job.

Family

I'm the oldest of two sons to my mother Lis and my father Flemming. My younger brother is named Carsten. If you want to know more about my family, you can visit our Family Portal, but be warned: it's in danish!

What I do?

Photography

I take great pride in calling myself an avid amateur photographer. For 10 years, I received tutoring from a professional advertising photographer, but whether or not it has had any influence on my photography skills, I don't know... Music

I'm not only interested in photography. I'm also a great lover of live-music and goes to at least 50 concerts per year. Maybe that's why more than 50% of the photos at my flickr™-account are music related?

In the photo above, I'm captured by an unknown music photographer, at the front row at a Perry Stenbäck Band concert at Jelling Musikfestival 2007.
